Petiction is a Chrome extension and website run by Rextertech ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the extension, the website at petiction.com and your Petiction account, and what we do with it.

The short version

1. What stays in your browser

The extension runs on the pages you visit so your pets can walk on links, headings and pictures. To do that it looks at the layout and text of the page you're on. The dog and parrot may say words from the page out loud. All of this happens on your computer. We don't collect, store or send the pages you visit, their content or your browsing history.

Settings such as pet size, the paw button and focus sessions are saved in Chrome's own storage on your device.

We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Razorpay handles payments under its own privacy policy.

3. Google and Microsoft account data

When you sign in with Google we ask only for your basic profile and email address.

If you choose to connect a calendar, we ask for read-only access to your list of calendars and their events (Google: calendar.calendarlist.readonly and calendar.events.readonly; Microsoft: Calendars.Read). We use it only to show meeting reminders from your pets. We store the access tokens encrypted, keep only the next 2 days of events (meeting titles too, unless you turn them off in Account → Calendar), and you can disconnect at any time from Account → Calendar, which deletes the stored tokens and events.

Petiction's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we don't use Google user data for advertising, we don't sell it, we don't let people read it unless you ask us to for support, it's needed for security or the law requires it, and we don't use it to train AI models.

4. Who we share data with

We share data only with the services that run Petiction for us, and only what each one needs:

Your friends see your username, your pets' names and look, and notes you send them. We may also disclose data if the law requires it or to protect users from fraud or abuse. If Petiction is sold or merged, your data would move with it under this policy.

5. Cookies

The account website uses one session cookie to keep you signed in. The landing page sets no cookies. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep it

7. Security

Data is sent over HTTPS, calendar tokens are encrypted at rest, and access to our servers and admin panel is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have further rights, such as to object or to complain to a regulator. Email us and we'll help.

9. Children

Petiction isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you're under 18, please use Petiction with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant we'll tell you in the extension or by email before it takes effect.
